The Not-So-Manic Monday

Happy Monday LMC readers!  Fall is in the air, the birds are chirping outside and I have a desk chair to sit on....and toilet paper holders in my bathroom finally!  It's the little things right?

So before you think I am absolutely crazy, let me explain what I have been up to the last few weeks in hopes that you can forgive me for my recent disappearing act in the blogosphere.

The boy and I closed on our dream house that we have been building for almost two years, we went to Germany for two weeks, I had three weddings in two weeks, a few wrap up design projects to do, and then directly went to High Point Market last week to shop for upcoming design clients.  This was all condensed in about a months time!  We moved into our home after we got back from Germany and then the whirlwind began!

I will say, it was a lot to handle, but all weddings, design projects and house moving went off without a hitch and I CAN'T WAIT to share it all with you!!!  I don't even know where to begin! Along with this fabulous news comes a national publication of an LMC Wedding in Charleston Style and Design magazine!  Be looking out for that blog post this week!  With all this craziness however, comes a lot of gratefulness as there is no way possible I could have done any of this without my supportive husband, family and friends.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The boy even worked a wedding for me as I needed a last minute extra hand to make sure it ran smoothly (he looks great in all black by the way).

In the coming weeks, I will be blogging about my finds at High Point Market, October weddings, sneak peaks of my house and new office and lots of Holiday ideas that I have been saving up for the season so be sure to subscribe to my blog posts!  In the meantime, below are some photos of what I have been up to lately!

Until then...

New Southern Home 2014

I have been a traveling fool these past few weeks!  From Italy, to Orlando, I have so much to tell you guys and share with you!  I'm not going to lie, it's very nice to be back in Charleston and spend these next few weeks focusing on this fall's Wedding Season, some fabulous design clients and of course, my blog.

The first thing I am going to share with you is from my most recent trip, which was Orlando Florida to attend this year's SEBC (Southeast Building Conference).  It's always a great way to make new connections and learn about upcoming trends in not only building, but interior design.  The days were filled with some wonderful courses, however, I must say that my favorite part of the week was the VIP party at this year's New Southern Home.  This night was truly the best of both worlds for me because not only was it a treat seeing such flawless design and talent, but also imagining the endless possibilities of throwing party after party in this home!

The house was named "The Oasis" and is located in the charming Old Winter Park area known as the Vias.  The house features a native Florida landscape with over 6,500 square feet of interior and exterior outdoor spaces.  When you go through each room, it is evident why the name Oasis was appointed to this fabulous house.

The team of professionals who made this happen are all nationally recognized and came together as a power team, to create this beautiful home.  Some of the big players included Bill Cook of Bill Cook Luxury Homes, general contractor Alex Hannigan, architects Donald F. Evans and James LaPiana of The Evans Group, landscape architect Scott Redmon of Redmon Design Group, PA, energy consultant Drew Smith of Two-Trails, Inc and last but not least, the fabulous interior designer Kate Clark.

Ms. Clark did an amazing job of keeping with the organic and monochromatic style of the home by using rich textures and layers at every turn.  Her sense of style and attention to detail was obvious right down to her river rock place mats on the table.  I enjoyed every inch of this house and can't wait to see some more of her future projects!  For a great blog post about the similarities between this house and the iconic Prairie Home by Frank Lloyd Wright (One of my favorites!) along with some amazing professional photos, be sure to visit Inside Design's blog post.

Below are some photos I took at the party last week.  Enjoy!
